Our wedding party

Maria's first-year roommate at Stellenbosch, who once drove four hours through the night to deliver soup and a pep talk. Fiercely loyal, terrible at keeping secrets.

Daniel's friend first, then Maria's — and the one who taught Maria to cook oshifima. Officially on Maria's side now. Daniel has accepted this.

Daniel's colleague who became family over a decade of bridges, braais and bad puns. In charge of rings, timing and calming the groom.

Six years old, extremely serious about petals. Has been practising her walk down the passage every evening for a month.

Our master of ceremonies. Retired school principal, natural storyteller, owner of the loudest laugh in the Western Cape. He will keep the evening running — mostly on time.
