Getting here

From near & far

Nearest airport

Cape Town International Airport (CPT)

The nearest international airport, 75 km (about 1 hour 10 minutes) from the estate. It has direct flights from Johannesburg, Durban, Windhoek, Walvis Bay and many European and Middle Eastern cities.

March is peak season in the Cape, so we recommend booking flights as early as you can.

Airport information

Nearest airport

Flying in from Namibia

Several airlines fly daily between Hosea Kutako International (WDH) in Windhoek and Cape Town — the flight is just under two hours. Remember your passport, and check that it is valid for at least 30 days beyond your stay.

Driving directions

Driving from Cape Town

Take the N1 towards Paarl, then follow the R45 to Franschhoek. Two kilometres before the village, turn left onto Excelsior Road at the stone gateposts. Allow 75 minutes, and a little longer on Friday afternoons.

From Stellenbosch, the R310 over Helshoogte Pass is one of the most beautiful drives in the country — take it slowly.

Getting around

Getting around Franschhoek

The village itself is walkable, with excellent restaurants along Huguenot Road. Ride-hailing apps work, but cars can be scarce late at night — please use our wedding shuttles after the reception.

Car rental

Car hire

All the major car rental companies have desks in the arrivals hall at Cape Town International. If you want to explore the winelands while you're here, a car is by far the easiest way. Please don't drink and drive — our shuttles are there for the wedding itself.

Airport shuttle

Airport transfers

Prefer not to drive? Private transfers from the airport to Franschhoek take about 75 minutes. Our families are using a small local operator — let us know your flight details in your RSVP message and we'll happily connect you.

Arrival information

Arriving on the day

Please arrive between 15:15 and 15:45. Parking marshals will meet you at the bottom of the oak avenue, and our ushers will walk you to the Oak Garden. The ceremony starts at 16:00 sharp — the bride has promised.

Wedding transport
